Discover Tianshui

 
Tianshui a city located in the Gansu Province of China is known for its long history and culture. Founded in Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD) today it is home to over 3.5 million people. It is especially renowned for its many ancient monuments, including the Fuxi Temple which has stood since 963 AD and the Maiji Mountain Grottoes featuring 500 statues carved into limestone cliffs during three different dynasties.

There are also many other archaeological sites around Tianshui, such as the Qin Tombs of Huaqing Palace, where 6th century BC tombs were discovered when archaeologists excavated nearby trenches in 1980s. Among other things worth seeing include Qiliang Cave which dates to 586 AD and displays colorful frescoes with some figures dating back 2200 years ago.

Visitors can also experience annual festivals like Tianshui Peach Festival that celebrates local harvest and enjoy sightseeing on river boats cruising along Qingjiang River that runs through the city center or try various regional dishes like Lanzhou beef noodles at one of Tianshui's local eateries.
