Liuzhou is a medium-sized city located in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China. Situated on the Liu River, it is known as a gateway to other nearby cities, such as Nanning and Guilin. The city has a population of around 4 million people and is well connected by train to major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Kunming.
For visitors, Liuzhou offers a number of attractions including its so-called 'green corridor' which stretches along both banks of the Liuxihe River and provides great views across parks and gardens alongside ancient temples from dynasties past. One can also experience local activities like river cruises or sample unique regional cuisine with dishes like Liuzhou noodles being particularly popular among locals. Other top attractions include visiting traditional markets for some unique shopping experiences or exploring one of the many Buddhist monasteries scattered throughout the city such as Sanfeng Temple built during Qing Dynasty in 1654AD. With plentyof outdoor activities also on offer in nearby nature reserves and scenic spots around Mount Liuguanghe National Park, there's something for everyone in this vibrant Chinese City!
