Discover Yuncheng

 
Yuncheng is a prefecture-level city located in the Shanxi Province of China. It lies in the Yellow River's drainage basin, and has an area of 14,182 km2. It is known as the 'City of Salt' due to its abundant reserves which allowed it to become an important salt trading hub during antiquity. Yuncheng was once home to several palaces built by emperors throughout Chinese history, including those of the Sui Dynasty and Tang Dynasty.

Visitors have plenty to explore in Yuncheng, with its well-preserved ancient city walls dating back over 2,000 years and numerous cultural venues steeped in tradition. Visitors can also explore Yuncheng's markets for traditional handicrafts or take part in unique festivals such as the Annual Shangqing Temple Fair held annually since 1157 AD! For a taste of rural life, visitors can enjoy leisurely walks through local villages or partake scenic hikes along mountain ridges around the nearby reservoir lake at Lushi Lake Park.
