The Cordoba Department of Colombia is located in the north-western part of the country, bordering the Caribbean Sea. It's one of the most biodiverse regions in Colombia and home to a variety of landscapes, including mountainous areas, beaches, wetlands and rainforests. The capital city is Monteria.
Popular tourist destinations include La Playa Blanca for its stunning white-sand beaches and lush jungle backdrop as well as San Onofre, a coastal town known for its colorful colonial architecture. Inland attractions include the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range and Los Colorados Natural Reserve with its diverse flora and fauna.
