The Cordoba Department of Colombia is located in the north-western part of the country, bordering the Caribbean Sea. It's one of the most biodiverse regions in Colombia and home to a variety of landscapes, including mountainous areas, beaches, wetlands and rainforests. The capital city is Monteria.

Popular tourist destinations include La Playa Blanca for its stunning white-sand beaches and lush jungle backdrop as well as San Onofre, a coastal town known for its colorful colonial architecture. Inland attractions include the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range and Los Colorados Natural Reserve with its diverse flora and fauna.

Cordoba also has an interesting history tied to former Spanish colonies. It was once home to a rich aristocracy who had access to exclusive private clubs like El Club Campestre de Cucuta - an elite social club that still stands today!
