Quindio is a department located in the Central Region of Colombia, sharing borders with the departments of Risaralda and Valle del Cauca. This department is known for its beautiful landscapes and coffee production. It's home to several national parks and reserves such as National Natural Park El Cocora, Los Nevados National Natural Park, Los Angeles Ecological Reserve and many more that offer plenty of outdoor activities.

Some interesting touristy places to visit are Salento & Filandia - two picturesque colonial towns located in the northern part of Quindio which still keep their traditional charm alive through their colorful houses, cobblestone streets and surrounding nature; Santa Rosa de Cabal a popular center for thermal baths rich in natural minerals; and Parque del Cafe - an amusement park with over 30 attractions dedicated to coffee culture.

An interesting historical fact about Quindio is that it was one of the "Original Six" Departments created after Colombia declared independence from Spain on July 20th 1810. Today it remains one of the smallest but most vibrant departments in Colombia due to its unique culture, friendly people, delicious food and abundance of nature - making it a must-see destination when visiting Colombia!
