Visit Sangha


The Sangha Province is an area located in the Republic of Congo, bordered by the Central African Republic to the north and Cameroon to the east. This remote jungle region stretches across a vast expanse of rainforest land, large rivers and swamplands. Home to numerous animal species, it has become a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and safari-goers.

In terms of attractions, some touristy places worth visiting include Lac Tele National Park -- known as one of Africa's best wildlife parks -- and Ngaga Camp, a stunning treehouse cabin located in an isolated gorilla forest reserve. For those looking for more outdoors activities, there are also plenty of bird watching spots near Lake Tumba where over 500 different species have been spotted!

Sangha Province also has a rich cultural heritage with various historical sites scattered around its landscape such as Nkonda Forest Reserve which is home to ancient ruins that date back centuries ago. Additionally, you can learn about traditional Congolese culture by visiting nearby villages like Mabuya which was once part of King Makoko's kingdom in 18th century pre-colonial times.
