Heredia is a beautiful province of Costa Rica located north of the capital San Jose. Its lush green hills and valleys make it a great place to explore nature, with a variety of flora and fauna. Some popular tourist destinations include Poas Volcano National Park, Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve, and Arenal Volcano National Park.

Heredia is also known for its colonial architecture and colorful streetscapes in its downtown area. Visitors can take in the sights while strolling along Calle Central or visit the city's famous Sarchi Oxcart Factory to learn about Costa Rican history and craftsmanship. For an interesting historical fact, Heredia was declared an independent state by President Juan Mora in 1824 before being annexed into Costa Rica later that same year.
