Visit Camagüey Province

The Province of Camaguey is located in the northeastern corner of Cuba, and is known for its vibrant culture, historic sites and unspoiled beaches. Notable tourist attractions in the province include Castillo del Morro, a 16th century fortress built by the Spanish to protect against pirate attacks; Parque Ignacio Agramonte, a lush botanical garden with a museum dedicated to one of Cuba's most revered heroes; and La Loma de la Cruz, a hilltop viewpoint with panoramic views over the city.

Camaguey also has plenty of exciting activities for visitors to enjoy. From snorkeling at Playa Santa Lucia beach or learning traditional Cuban dances at one of many dance academies, to exploring Trinidad's cobblestone streets and colonial architecture or taking part in one of the province's music festivals - there truly is something for everyone here.

One fun fact about Camaguey's history is that it was once home to some of Cuba's first settlements by indigenous tribes from South America before being discovered by Columbus in 1492. Today, visitors can explore various archeological sites around town which have been identified as belonging to this early period.
