Visit Ciego de Ávila Province


Ciego de Avila Province is located in central Cuba, and is bordered by Sancti Spiritus, Camaguey, and Villa Clara. It has a population of over 500,000 people and is home to some of the best beaches in the country.

The capital city of Ciego de Avila serves as a great base for exploring the region. Popular tourist attractions include Las Tunas Beach, which provides visitors with endless opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. The charming town of Moron also draws visitors with its mix of colonial architecture and vibrant nightlife.

Historically, Ciego de Avila was an important stop on the Caribbean trade route during colonial times. Today it has become well known for its many festivals throughout the year including Carnaval del Jigue in February and May's Festival Provincial del Cafe con Leche y el Azucar (the provincial coffee festival).
