The Region of Southern Denmark is located on the southwestern coast of Denmark, bordered by the North Sea and German border. It is made up of six municipalities: Aabenraa, Esbjerg, Fano, Haderslev, Kolding and Sonderborg. The region is known for its beautiful landscapes and stunning beaches. Tourists come to explore the many historic castles and manor houses that are scattered throughout this area as well as visit attractions such as Legoland Billund or Givskud Zoo.

For a taste of history, visitors should check out Sonderborg Castle which was founded in 1100AD by King Erik 1st of Denmark. It has long been associated with Danish royalty throughout its history and now serves as a museum hosting various exhibitions year round. Another popular historical site to visit is Dybbol Mill in Sonderjylland which dates back to 17th century milling days on the banks of Dybbol Lake. Here visitors can explore how people used to live during those times with an interactive exhibition featuring old mill machinery and tools.
