Visit Arta Region

The Arta Region of Djibouti is a fascinating and diverse area, located in the southeastern corner of the country. It's one of the most sparsely populated regions in Africa, making it a great place to get away from it all.

One of its main attractions is Lake Abbe, a salt lake situated on the Ethiopia-Djibouti border. Its stunning landscape features colorful hot springs, caves and fumaroles, as well as breathtaking views across the nearby peaks. Tourists can also explore nearby attractions such as Day Forest National Park, which boasts an array of wildlife including leopards and elephants.

A fun historical fact about the Arta Region is that local tribes used to brew beer from millet for centuries until Europeans introduced barley malt brewing techniques during colonization in 1884. This led to a boom in local beer production and today locals still make millet-based beers for special occasions or ceremonies!
