Visit Duarte Province

The Duarte Province of Dominican Republic is a beautiful region located in the Cibao Valley, on the northern side of the Caribbean island. It is known for its spectacular mountains, rivers, and lakes that make it a great destination for nature lovers.

A must-see tourist attraction in this province is El Limon Waterfall. It is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in all of Dominican Republic, with cascading waters that plunge down over forty meters into an emerald pool below. There are also plenty of hiking trails to explore and cool off from the hot Caribbean sun!

Another great site to visit here is Los Haitises National Park, which features vast mangrove forests and several cays situated along pristine beaches. This park offers visitors plenty to do such as kayaking through its waterways or exploring ancient Taino artifacts found throughout its jungles.

Duarte Province also has a rich history connected to its namesake Juan Pablo Duarte who led an uprising against Spanish rule in 1844 during what became known as The War of Restoration. Many monuments stand throughout this region honoring his legacy including statues located at Plaza de la Independencia in Santiago de los Caballeros city center.
