Visit El Seibo Province

El Seibo Province is a coastal province located in the Dominican Republic, along the eastern shore of the Caribbean Sea. It's known for its lush tropical landscapes, picturesque beaches, and numerous tourist attractions. The capital city of El Seibo is La Romana, located near the famous sugarcane fields.

Two popular places to visit in El Seibo are Cueva de las Maravillas ("Cave of Wonders"), a large cave system rich in natural beauty and ancestral Taino artifacts; and Los Haitises National Park, which features mangrove forests, waterfalls, caves, rivers, beaches and incredible biodiversity.

The region has an interesting historical legacy that dates back to Christopher Columbus' first voyage to Hispaniola island in 1492. He not only named El Seibo along with other settlements on his second voyage in 1493 but participated actively in local battles against indigenous people between 1494-1496.
