Visit Monseñor Nouel Province


Monsenor Nouel Province is located in the central region of the Dominican Republic. It is home to the cities of Bonao and Maimon, numerous small towns, and many rural communities. The area offers a unique blend of city life and traditional rural lifestyle.

With its mountainous terrain, Monsenor Nouel Province provides stunning views for visitors to explore. Tourists can visit La Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City), a natural rock formation on top of a mountain between Bonao and Maimon, or take a tour through Los Tres Ojos National Park to see its three lakes connected by underground rivers.

Monsenor Nouel Province has an interesting history as it was originally part of Santiago Province before being split in 1966. It was named after prominent Dominican politician Jose Maria Moncion y Nouel who served as head of state from 1865-1866.
