Visit San José de Ocoa Province


San Jose de Ocoa Province is located in the Dominican Republic. It's surrounded by the provinces of Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, and Azua. The province has a rich cultural heritage, with its oldest settlement dating back to 1860 when it was founded as a coffee plantation village.

The province is an ideal destination for outdoor activities and has many exciting attractions worth visiting. A popular tourist spot is El Guavio waterfall, a beautiful cascading waterfall set in the lush tropical greenery of the region. La Frontera Farm Museum is also a fun experience for visitors interested in learning about local history and culture through artifacts from colonial times including weapons, armors, paintings and household items.

The region also has interesting historical facts such as being home to one of the most important battles fought during Dominican War of Independence which took place near Ocoita River on December 28th 17718 between Haitian General Antoine Francois Vezuvius Leclerc and Dominican National Hero Gregorio Luperon who led soldiers against Haitian forces until his death at battle's end.
