Loja, Ecuador is a picturesque city located in the south of the country. It is known for its mild climate and stunning mountain scenery, as well as its charming colonial center which features whitewashed buildings and cobblestone streets. Loja offers plenty of outdoor activities, including hiking in nearby Cajas National Park or exploring the nearby Podocarpus National Park. Other popular attractions include the city's lively markets where visitors can find unique handmade crafts such as colorful hammocks and jewelry made by local artisans.

One of Loja's most popular tourist sites is Malacatos Archaeological Complex, an ancient Incan site that includes ruins of buildings, terraces and irrigation systems dating back to before Spanish colonization. Loja also has a long history dating back to when it was founded in 1548 by Spanish conquistador Sebastian Benalcazar - one of Ecuador's first cities! Visitors can explore the historic quarter "El Centro" to appreciate architecture from colonial times, visit museums such as Casa de la Cultura or take advantage of its many cultural events throughout the year like Cuenca International Music Festival held each June.
