Visit Beni Suef Governorate


The Beni Suef Governorate of Egypt is located in the center of the country, about 100 miles south of Cairo. It was created in 1859 and has a population of over 4 million people. The governorate is known for its rich agricultural land and production of cotton, corn, wheat, and other crops.

A major tourist attraction in Beni Suef is the Temple of Khonsu at Karnak. This ancient temple was built during the New Kingdom period and offers visitors a glimpse into Egyptian history and culture. Another popular destination is Lake Qarun, an oasis surrounded by palm trees that hosts many birds including flamingos which can be seen flying overhead.

Beni Suef also has a long history stretching back to ancient times when it was part of Lower Egypt. In fact, many artifacts from this time have been discovered in recent years including mummies dating back to 3100 BC!
