Visit Bioko Norte Province


Bioko Norte is a province in the country of Equatorial Guinea. It is located on the northern part of Bioko Island, and it borders Gabon. It has a population of over 300,000 people, mostly living in small coastal villages and inland rural areas. The capital city Malabo has many historical sights to explore such as Fort Malabo which was built during Spanish colonization in 1778.

A popular tourist destination in Bioko Norte is Luba Beach. This beach features white sand and crystal clear waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling with plenty of local seafood restaurants nearby to indulge in traditional dishes from the region. For those looking to step back into history, Kogo Palace Museum also known as La Casa de los Ingleses (The House of the English) is a 19th century colonial residence with artifacts from Equatorial Guinea's colonial past.

An interesting historical fact about Bioko Norte Province is that most locals are descended from tribes who settled on the island before Spanish colonization began in 1778.
