Visit Rapla County


Rapla County is located in the western part of Estonia, and includes the towns of Rapla, Kehtna and Marjamaa. With its rich history, scenic countryside and cultural attractions, Rapla County is an attractive destination for tourists.

When visiting Rapla County, make sure to see Jagala Waterfall - the highest waterfall in Estonia - or take a walk along the picturesque Elistvere Animal Park. For a glimpse of historical sights, visit St John's Church in Kohila or Kilingi-Nomme Castle Ruins.

The region has a long history that predates its annexation by Russia in 1721. The area was first mentioned as early as 1241 when some of its land was granted to Tallinn Cathedral by Danish King Valdemar II. Today it's home to many monuments from that era such as Oru Castle ruins which date back to at least 1314 AD.
