Visit Saare County

Saare County is a beautiful region located in Estonia on the Baltic Sea coast. It is home to Estonia's largest island, Saaremaa, and many smaller islands. With its stunning landscapes, gorgeous beaches, and traditional villages surrounded by forests and fields, it's no surprise that the area has become increasingly popular with tourists looking for a tranquil getaway.

Sights to see include the medieval castle of Kuressaare - one of Estonia's best preserved castles - as well as nature reserves such as Vilsandi National Park where visitors can enjoy views of more than 200 bird species. Puhtu Lighthouse is also worth a visit; it was built in 1858 and is still guiding sailors today!

The area has an interesting history too; in 1227 Saaremaa became part of Denmark until 1559 when it was conquered by Sweden before becoming part of the Russian Empire in 1710 after being traded away by Sweden.
