Visit Võru County

The Voru County of Estonia is located in the south-eastern part of the country on the border of Latvia. It covers an area of 2,305 km2 and has a population density of 34 people per square kilometer.

The county is home to many natural parks including Otepaa Nature Park which is great for activities such as cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing and cycling. Piusa Caves are also a popular tourist attraction; they are known for their sandstone formations and ancient drawings dating back to around 8000 BC.

Voru County also has an interesting history connected with the local Kihnu people who live on Muhu Island - it was declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003 due to its unique language, culture and traditions which have existed since medieval times. Finally, Voru Town itself is worth visiting for its old wooden houses and cobblestone streets lined with galleries offering works by local artists.
