Visit Pebble Island

The Pebble Island region of the Falkland Islands is located in the southwest corner of the archipelago. This picturesque area is known for its rugged terrain, dramatic cliffs and sandy beaches. Within the island are a few small settlements, including Stone Point, Port Stephens and San Carlos.

One of Pebble Island's top attractions is Westpoint Nature Reserve which offers visitors a variety of wildlife viewing opportunities including sea birds and penguins. For an adrenaline-filled experience, head to North Hill National Park where hikers can explore stunning landscapes with spectacular views across Stanley Harbor.

Pebble Island also has a rich history dating back to its discovery by Captain Strong in 1690 during his voyage from England to South America. In 1982 it was an important site during the Falklands War when British forces staged air raids from here on Argentine troops at Port Stanley. Visitors today can tour some of the abandoned military sites scattered around the island or visit Samuel Fisher's Monument which commemorates his death while protecting this same land during World War I.
