Visit West Falkland


West Falkland is an island located near the southernmost tip of South America. Part of the Falklands Islands, West Falkland is home to approximately 3,423 people and offers a unique mix of stunning landscapes, historical sites, and wildlife viewing.

For sightseeing enthusiasts, there are plenty of opportunities to explore West Falkland. One popular spot is Port Howard which features a museum dedicated to the region's history. Other attractions include New Island Nature Reserve where visitors can observe penguins and other seabirds in their natural habitat as well as visit historic lighthouses on Pebble Island or take a boat ride around Stanley Harbor.

The island also has an interesting history; it was discovered by British sailors in 1765 and was occupied during WWII by British forces for a brief period before they departed in 1945. Today it remains part of the UK Overseas Territory although parts are disputed with Argentina who also claims sovereignty over it.
