Korkeasaari is an island in Helsinki. The literal meaning of Korkeasaari is “Tall Island/Islet”. It is part of the Mustikkamaa–Korkeasaari district. Korkeasaari Zoo is located on the island and named after it. The island of Korkeasaari is a 22-hectare rocky island.
Directions
The ferries leave from Market Square (Kauppatori), close to the Suomenlinna ferry pier. The ferry runs the entire summer season from the 1st of May until the end of September. Please note that HSL travel cards are not accepted, ferry tickets can only be bought on the ferry. Tickets to Korkeasaari Zoo are sold after the ferry journey at the zoo entrance.
