Valence is a city in southeastern France located along the Rhone River. It lies within the Rhone-Alpes region and is about 25 miles from Lyon. Valence has a rich history dating back to Roman times, making it an interesting destination for those wanting to explore its vast history.

Additionally, Valence hosts several festivals throughout the year such as Fete des Lavandieres (the Festival of Washerwomen) in August which celebrates local culture through music and dance performances by washerwomen dressed in traditional costumes!
