Discover Belfort
Belfort is a city located in the eastern part of France in the Franche-Comte region. It is the capital of the Territoire de Belfort department and it has a population of around 50,000 people. The city was originally founded in 1777 due to its strategic position and was fortified by Vauban, who also designed its citadel.
Belfort is home to many historical buildings, including an impressive fortified citadel that dates back to Vauban's work in 1682. Other attractions include Notre Dame Church, Belfort Lion Monument, Belfroi Tower and Andre Maginot Museum.
