Montbeliard is a city located in the east of France, near the borders with Germany and Switzerland. It's been inhabited since the 10th century, and was originally home to Germanic tribes before being taken over by French princes. The city is known for its beautiful parks and gardens, its impressive Gothic churches, and its rich cultural heritage. Its old town centre boasts spectacular views of open countryside as well as plenty of interesting shops and restaurants.

The most popular attraction in Montbeliard is undoubtedly the Chateau de Montbeliard - a 12th-century castle that was once home to many French rulers. Visitors can explore its grand rooms, towers and gardens on guided tours or simply admire it from afar. Other highlights worth visiting include the Museum of Ethnography which details historical art collections from around Franche Comte region; the Espace des Confluences which hosts regular art exhibitions; or take a stroll through Parc Andre Malraux - an expansive park lined with trees set along a lake that winds around two islands - or visit during summer months for outdoor theatre performances at Theatre du Val-de-Loue.
