Bastia is a historic port city located in the French Mediterranean island of Corsica. It is the capital of Haute-Corse department and the second most populated commune in Corsica with a population of around 40,000. Bastia has a rich history with its origins dating back to the 8th century BC when it served as an ancient Greek trading post.
