Discover Guérande

Guerande is a charming city located in the department of Loire-Atlantique in France. It's situated on the Gulf of Morbihan, which is famous for its oyster beds and aquaculture. The city has a rich history, with evidence of human settlement going back to the 5th century.

The most distinguishing feature of Guerande is its Old Town, surrounded by ancient ramparts and a moat filled with water from the local salt marshes. Here you'll find cobbled streets and half-timbered houses that make it look like something out of a fairy tale! Inside this walled enclave are two interesting churches - Saint Aubin Cathedral and Notre Dame de la Joie - as well as an old hospital dating from 1499.

If you're looking for some outdoor activity, there are plenty off options to choose from around Guerande. From taking leisurely strolls along the beaches or exploring one of the many bike paths to bird watching at nearby Parc Naturel Regional de Briere or sailing around the Gulf - there's something here for everyone!
