Visit Tahiti

Tahiti is the largest and most populous island in French Polynesia. It is a stunning tropical paradise filled with lush rainforests, crystal clear waters, and sandy beaches. Popular tourist sites include Papeete, the capital of Tahiti which is home to vibrant markets and shops, Arahoho Blowhole - an impressive natural feature that shoots water up to 30 meters high - and James Norman Hall Home Museum where relics from World War II can be found.

Tahiti has a fascinating history stemming back thousands of years when it was first settled by Polynesians. In 1767, English navigator Captain Samuel Wallis arrived at Tahiti and was the first European ever to visit this stunning island. In 1842 Queen Pomare IV was forced off her throne by French missionaries who established their own government until 1960 when Tahiti became part of an independent nation known as French Polynesia. Today, Tahiti remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in the South Pacific thanks to its beautiful landscapes, vibrant culture and captivating history.
