Visit Adjara


Adjara is an Autonomous Republic of Georgia, located on the coast of the Black Sea. With its subtropical climate and beautiful beaches, Adjara is a popular tourist destination. While here, visitors can explore the region's unique culture and history while enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking in the Caucasus Mountains or soaking up some sun at one of Adjara's many beaches.

Popular tourist destinations include Batumi, the capital city with vibrant street art and lively nightlife; Gonio Fortress on the Black Sea coast; and Mtirala National Park with its lush greenery, waterfalls and ancient ruins.

Adjara also has an interesting history that dates back to medieval times when it was an independent kingdom ruled by Ottoman Empire rulers from 1723-1878 before becoming part of Russia in 1879. Today Adjara is a home to over 250 thousand people who proudly preserve their culture through their language - Georgian - traditional cuisine, music and dance performances.
