Potsdam is a city in the German state of Brandenburg, located on the River Havel just to the southwest of Berlin. It was once Prussia's royal seat and is now a vibrant student town, characterized by its baroque-style palaces and gardens. Potsdam also has an atmosphere that truly sets it apart from other German cities. Visitors should take some time to stroll around its picturesque streets, lined with beautiful buildings from different eras, all accompanied by lovely canals and waterways, plus plenty of green spaces too.

When visiting Potsdam there are many fascinating sights to enjoy such as Sanssouci Palace - Frederick the Great's 18th century summer palace - which features spectacular French-style gardens full of fountains and sculptures; Babelsberg Park - Germany's oldest film studio; Cecilienhof Palace - where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945; Lindstedt Palace - which was once home to Kaiser Wilhelm II; and Nauener Gate - an iconic city gate constructed in 1755. There's also Museum Barberini which hosts modern art exhibitions throughout the year.
