Ghana is a West African nation with a beautiful and vibrant culture. It has a rich history, fascinating landscapes and friendly people who always welcome visitors to explore the country. One thing that sets Ghana apart from other countries in the region is its strong social values and commitment to education, making it one of the most educated nations in Africa.

Travelers should set aside plenty of time to explore Ghana's capital city, Accra. This bustling metropolis offers something for everyone, from street markets and colonial architecture to craft breweries, art galleries and world-class restaurants. The beaches along Ghana's coastline are also a must-see, with their crystal clear waters and stunning coral reefs perfect for snorkeling and other water activities.

Nature lovers will be delighted by some of Ghana’s national parks. Mole National Park is home to elephants, lions, antelopes, baboons and numerous species of birds. Other highlights include Wli Falls, the tallest waterfall in West Africa, Kakum National Park with its famous canopy walkway and Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary where visitors can observe Mona monkeys in their natural habitat.

For a unique experience off the beaten path, head to Elmina Castle in Central Region.
