The Ashanti people of Ghana are a dominant ethnic and cultural group in the nation. They are descendants of the Akan, who originally inhabited the area now known as Ghana centuries ago. The Ashanti are known for their rich culture, including music, art and crafts, dance, folklore and cuisine.
