Visit Greater Accra Region

The Greater Accra Region of Ghana is a vibrant coastal area that features a unique blend of modern and traditional culture. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, it is the most populous region in the country, with over four million inhabitants. It's capital city, Accra, is home to numerous attractions and activities for visitors to enjoy. Popular places for tourists include Jamestown Lighthouse and Labadi Beach - both offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

This region also has an incredibly rich history, having been settled by Ga-Adangme people in 1500 BC. The Ga had a powerful presence in this area until colonial powers arrived from Europe during the 17th century. Since gaining independence from Britain in 1957, Greater Accra has served as Ghana's economic backbone and continues to be one of its most important provinces today.
