Visit Northern

The Northern Region of Ghana is an area rich in culture and history. With its vast savanna plains and the stunning White Volta river, there are plenty of places to explore. Tourists can visit the Mole National Park to see some of Ghana's impressive wildlife, or take a trip to Larabanga Mosque - one of the oldest mosques in West Africa. Tamale is also an interesting city with bustling markets, traditional handicrafts, and delicious local street food.

For those interested in history, there are many fascinating sites to explore in the Northern Region. The ruins of Kintampo show evidence of early Iron Age settlements that date back 3,000 years ago; while at Paga Crocodile Pond you can learn about a local legend which claims that crocodiles will offer up treasures if they are offered pieces of cloth!
