Visit Northern Region

The Northern Region of Ghana is located in the uppermost part of the country, with Burkina Faso to its north and Togo to its east. It is a diverse region, home to some of Ghana's most spectacular sites. Tourists can explore the Wli Falls, which are among the highest waterfalls in West Africa; visit Mole National Park for a chance to see elephants, antelope, warthogs and baboons; or explore Lake Bosomtwe - an ancient crater lake surrounded by lush vegetation.

For history buffs, there are plenty of interesting sites such as Larabanga Mosque - one of Ghana's oldest Islamic mosques - or Gonja Fort which dates back to 1520 and was once used as a base for slave traders. There are also several traditional villages where visitors can learn about local culture and customs. In short, the Northern Region offers great opportunities for both adventure seekers and those looking for a more relaxed experience filled with cultural discovery.
