Central Macedonia is a region of Greece located in the north-central part of the country. It's home to culturally and historically rich cities like Thessaloniki, where visitors will find countless galleries and museums, bustling nightlife, stunning architecture and beautiful beaches. Central Macedonia is also home to Mount Olympus, the highest peak in Greece, as well as lush forests perfect for hiking or cycling.

Tourists can explore ancient landmarks like Vergina near Thessaloniki which contains some of the most important archaeological remains from ancient Macedon. They can also visit Philippi, where Saint Paul preached his first sermon in Europe during Roman times.

In addition to its cultural heritage and natural beauty, Central Macedonia is known for its winemaking history; it produces some of the best red wines in all of Greece. Its history dates back thousands of years; Alexander the Great was born here and defeated Darius III at Gaugamela in what is now modern day Kavala.
