Visit Tunu (East Greenland)

Tunu is the easternmost region of Greenland, located north of the Arctic Circle. This sparsely populated area is home to some of Greenland's most stunning natural wonders. Visitors can enjoy unique and remote experiences such as kayaking through fjords, whale watching, and exploring impressive ice cap landscapes.

One touristy place to visit is Kulusuk Island located on Tunu's eastern coast. Here visitors can experience traditional Inuit culture firsthand and immerse themselves in the picturesque scenery of Nunataaq mountain peaks, icebergs, and coastal tundra.

The second must-see destination in Tunu is Tasiilaq which was formerly known as Ammassalik. This historic town dates back to 1770 when it was founded by East Greenlandic explorer Knud Rasmussen who had a base camp here while on his expedition across the Arctic Ocean. Today Tasiilaq offers visitors a glimpse into Greenlandic culture with its colorful houses that line its cobblestoned streets and museums that showcase local artworks from ancient times until today.

Overall Tunu provides an abundant amount of outdoor activities for travelers from all walks of life looking for adventure or just wanting to relax amidst some beautiful landscapes!
