Visit Saint Mark Parish

The Saint Mark Parish of Grenada is located in the south-western region of the Caribbean island. It's a lush, tropical area filled with scenic beauty and vibrant culture. Visitors to Saint Mark will find plenty to explore, from stunning beaches and rainforests, to charming villages and historical sites.

One of the most popular tourist attractions is Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve, which features a large crater lake surrounded by pristine rainforest. The park also offers amazing views of nearby mountains as well as chances for bird-watching and other outdoor activities. For amazing panoramic views, visitors should head up to Mount Qua Qua Hill; at just over 700 feet in elevation it offers stunning views of both the ocean and inland plains.

Saint Mark also has its fair share of interesting history; it was originally inhabited by Caribs before becoming part of the French colonies in 1650 when Fort Royal was built there by French settlers. A few centuries later, during World War II, American forces constructed an airbase in what is now Pearls Airport in Saint Mark Parish. Today this airport serves both private aircrafts as well as commercial flights coming into Grenada from all over the world.
