Hagåtña

Guam, also known as the "Island of the Lungs" is an unincorporated U.S. territory located in the western Pacific Ocean. Guam is known for its beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear waters, making it a top destination for tourists from all over the world. The capital city of Hagatna offers plenty of historical sites to explore, such as Fort Santa Agueda and Puntan Dos Amantes. Other popular attractions on the island include Chamorro Village, where visitors can learn about local culture, and Piti Bomb Holes, one of Guam's hidden gems that features spectacular views.

One interesting historical fact about Guam is that it was an important strategic location during World War II due to its proximity to Japan; during this time period Guam was occupied by Japanese forces until American forces recaptured it in 1944. Today, visitors can pay their respects at various war memorials located across the island such as Asan Bay Overlook and War in the Pacific National Historical Park which commemorate those who fought and died during this conflict.
