The Sark region of Guernsey, located in the English Channel, is a small island nation that offers visitors a unique and unparalleled experience. It is the smallest of the four main islands that makes up Guernsey, but it packs a punch for its size. Its feudal system is still intact and provides an interesting look into historical times. In terms of history, Sark was first inhabited by Celts until it eventually came under Norse control before becoming part of Normandy and eventually France after 1066 as part of William I's successful conquest over England as well as Normany and other parts on France. After centuries under French rule Sark finally gained independence in 1565 from Elizabeth I who declared it a Royal Fief domiciled within the British crown!
