Visit Biombo

The Biombo region of Guinea-Bissau is located in the northwest of the country and is known for its natural beauty, rich culture and vibrant history. It is home to several traditional villages such as Corubal and Bolama, which offer a unique insight into the country's culture. The coastal town of Buba offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, making it a popular tourist destination.

The city of Bafata also lies within Biombo and offers visitors plenty to explore including historic buildings, colorful markets and interesting art galleries. In addition to its many cultural attractions, the region boasts an array of natural resources ranging from savannas to wetlands that are essential habitats for various species of birds, reptiles and mammals.

One particularly notable historical fact about Biombo Province is that it was once part of Portuguese Guinea before becoming independent in 1974 following a prolonged struggle against colonialism by local forces led by Amilcar Cabral. As such, there are numerous monuments throughout the region commemorating this momentous event in national history. Tourists visiting Biombo should not miss out on seeing these sites or exploring other attractions such as Cacheu National Park or Kedija Island - both excellent places for outdoor activities like hiking or birdwatching!
