Visit Potaro-Siparuni

The Potaro-Siparuni region of Guyana is a spectacularly diverse area of Amazonian rainforest in the center of the country. It is filled with lush vegetation and incredible wildlife that make it an ideal destination for tourists looking to experience some of South America's most pristine wilderness. There are many breathtaking locations to explore, including Kaieteur National Park, home to the world's highest single-drop waterfall. Other popular attractions include Iwokrama Rainforest Reserve and Kanuku Mountains Protected Area, where visitors can go hiking, birdwatching or simply enjoy the scenery.

Historically, this region was inhabited by various Amerindian tribes such as Arawaks and Caribs. In recent years, members of these communities have worked together with conservation groups to protect this ecologically important area from exploitation and deforestation. As a result, the Potaro-Siparuni region remains one of Guyana's most pristine forests today.
