The Nord-Est of Haiti is a beautiful region with diverse environments, both natural and cultural. The landscape ranges from lush rainforest to arid desert, making it an ideal destination for adventure seekers looking to explore the great outdoors. Among its many attractions are nearby beaches perfect for swimming, snorkeling and fishing.

For those interested in historical sites, the Nord-Est is home to a number of significant monuments. A must-see is Citadelle Laferriere - an impressive 18th century fortress built on top of the Bonnet a L'Eveque mountain that served as a stronghold against colonial forces during Haiti's revolution. Also worth visiting is Sans Souci Palace - the former royal residence of King Henri Christophe perched atop a hill near Milot.

Rich in culture as well as history, this region offers plenty of traditional cuisine such as griyo (seasoned fried pork), mayi moulen (cornmeal dumplings) and bannann peze (fried plantains).
