Visit Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County


The Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok County of Hungary is located in the Central Transdanubian Region and is home to nearly 600,000 people. It is known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant folk traditions. One of the best places to visit in the region is the town of Szolnok where you can explore some fascinating museums and galleries that showcase traditional Hungarian artifacts and artworks.

Other attractions worth visiting include the Erdobenye Wildlife Park, Debrecen Zoo & Aquarium, Sag Mountain Nature Reserve, and Hortobagy National Park. It's also a great destination for history buffs as it's home to four UNESCO World Heritage sites: Ferto/Neusiedlersee Cultural Landscape, Tokaj Wine Region Historic Cultural Landscape, Millenary Benedictine Abbey at Pannonhalma and its Natural Environment, and Early Christian Necropolis of Pecs (Sopianae).

The county has quite an interesting past; it was once part of a larger province called Partium which was established by King Stephen I in 1061. It underwent many changes over time but has maintained its unique cultural identity throughout history.
