Discover Gohpur

 
Gohpur is a small town located in the state of Assam, India. It is renowned for being an important center for tea production and trading in the region. The area is blessed with natural beauty, boasting lush green tea gardens that stretch as far as the eye can see.

The main attraction of Gohpur is the ancient Kamakhya Temple which dates back to 1645 AD. Located atop Nilachal Hill, this Hindu temple worships Goddess Kamakhya and draws thousands of pilgrims each year who come to offer their prayers and receive blessings from the goddess.

One of Gohpur's most popular sights is Madan Kamdev, a historical archaeological site believed to have been built around 11th century AD by King Naranarayan. Madan Kamdev features stunning sculptures carved into rocks depicting gods and goddesses from Hindu mythology such as Shiva-Parvati and Ganesh-Parvati among others.

In addition to its rich culture and history, there are plenty of outdoor activities available for visitors such as fishing on nearby rivers or trekking in nearby forests filled with exotic wildlife like elephants, tigers, rhinos etc., making it an ideal destination for nature lovers looking for some adventure!
