Karnataka is a state in the south western region of India. It is bordered by Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The capital of Karnataka is Bengaluru, also known as Bangalore. This city has become one of the most important technology hubs in India.

Karnataka offers an array of tourist attractions for visitors to explore including historical monuments such as the Mysore Palace and Hampi temples; wildlife sanctuaries such as Bandipur National Park and Nagarhole National Park; beaches like Gokarna and Karwar; and hill stations like Nandi Hills and Coorg.

Karnataka's rich cultural heritage includes being home to some of India's oldest literature with Kannada being its official language. An interesting fact about Karnataka's history is that it was one of the first sites where humans settled during prehistory. Over time many different rulers have had control over the area making it a very complex mix of religions, traditions, customs and architecture today.
