Marine Drive, also known as the Queen’s Necklace, is a 3.6-kilometre-long boulevard in South Mumbai, India. This C-shaped six-lane concrete road along the coast boasts a stunning view of the Arabian Sea. It is a popular spot for watching sunsets, and its twinkling night view of street lights resembles a string of pearls, hence the nickname.
While visiting Marine Drive, one can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade, taking in the sea breeze and the bustling city life. Chowpatty Beach, located at the northern end of the drive, is a must-visit spot known for its bazaars and street food. The iconic art deco buildings lining the drive, including the famous Taraporewala Aquarium and numerous heritage buildings, add to the charm of this scenic locale.
