Sikkim is a small Indian state situated in the Himalayan Mountains. It borders Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal and is India's most northeastern state. This mountainous region has a diverse topography with lush green valleys, snow-capped mountains and numerous beautiful lakes. The capital of Sikkim is Gangtok, located at an altitude of 5500 feet above sea level.

Some popular tourist attractions in Sikkim include the Tsomgo Lake which is a glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Nathu La Pass - one of the highest mountain passes in the world, and Yumthang Valley - known as 'Valley of Flowers' that lies amidst soaring mountains filled with lupines, poppies, iris and other alpine flowers.

It also has a rich historical heritage with some significant monuments like Rumtek Monastery - one of the major monasteries belonging to Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Additionally, Sikkim was the first Indian state to implement organic farming and has been declared as India's first ever 100% organic state by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
